Spectrum Energizes 1MW Solar Farm In La Mesa Pumping Station

Spectrum, one of Meralco’s renewable energy subsidiaries recently energized a 1MW solar farm within Maynilad’s La Mesa Pumping station. This enables the pumping station to generate clean energy for its own use via solar power.

The solar farm is composed of 2,592 pieces of 390W Sunpower solar panels laid out over approximately 8,250 sqm of land. The farm is estimated to generate 1,324,512 kWh per annum while reducing their carbon footprint by 943.32 tons. This is equivalent to planting 1,936,002 trees.

With this new solar farm, Spectrum helps Maynilad take a step further in their journey towards sustainability and eco-friendliness.

This solar facility is just one of many projects of Spectrum that has a capacity of at least 1 MW—including the widely acclaimed City of Dreams, IRRI, and Cagbalete solar farms.

“As part of our commitment to create a more sustainable future through renewable energy, we are proud to have worked with Maynilad in powering the La Mesa Pumping Station.“ – Robert Marlon T. Pereja, COO of Spectrum.
