Spectrum, Meralco’s renewable energy arm, bags partnership deal with Ajinomoto as part of their global sustainability initiatives last February 3, 2022. A 1 mWp solar generating facility is to be installed in a factory in Guiguinto, Bulacan.

As part of the solar facility, Spectrum will install 2,232 solar panels. It would be able to generate an estimated 1,331,500 kWh of energy annually. This is equivalent to a 865 metric tons of carbon footprint reduction which is equivalent to planting 1,950,523 trees over 20 years.

The pilot solar facility to be developed in Bulacan is but one of the many initiatives that Ajinomoto has to realize their two major outcomes in 2030—extending the healthy life expectancy of one billion people and to reduce their impact to the environment in a way that also improves their business performance.

Spectrum continues to partner with global and local partners in their goal of spreading sustainability to anyone that shares the sentiment.

“In 2022, Spectrum is eyeing to further extend sustainability to all of our clients. As part of our commitment to bringing a sustainable future with renewable energy, we are excited to work with Ajinomoto in realizing their solar facility in their factory in Guiguinto, Bulacan” – Patrick Henry T. Panlilio, COO of Spectrum
